Baby's First Pictures

I had my first ultrasound on Monday, and everything looks just fine. We got to see the baby wriggling around ferociously. We also got to see the heart beat and hear the blood pumping through the cord. It was such a miracle!! I thank God everyday for this little life inside me.

If you look closely (inside the black bubble) you can see the head to the left and an arm and a leg sticking up in the air and a bump in the middle that I am assuming is the umbilical cord.

Sam's First Encounter with Santa

This picture is priceless...We were at Wal-Mart the other day and heard over the intercom that Santa was in the store. I wanted to see how Sam would react, so we went by and upon seeing Santa, Sam was very uneasy. I knew Sam was not going to be happy when I placed him on Santa's lap, so... I faced Sam towards me, walked toward Santa where Sam could not see him, told the photographer to snap quickly, sat Sam on Santa's lap, took one step back and in that split second Sam looked at Santa and wailed his most pitiful cry ever, the camera man snapped, and I went in for the save. It all happened rather quickly, and was not as painful or traumatizing as it looks, but it still makes for a memorable event and a great picture...And, Yes, Santa is giving the "evil-eye."

Hello All, Things are going well for us. Sam is getting more and more vocal and more and more like a 2-year-old. I can't believe he will be 2 so soon. He is really having a lot of fun looking at all the Christmas decorations & lights. Everytime we drive by some Christmas lights he exclaims "WOW!!" It is so priceless. I get so much joy out of seeing him light up and be so excited about something as simple as lights. He often reminds me to take a closer look at the things I take for granted and the simple things in life. Samuel is such a blessing!! He is a booger at times and very strong willed, but he is a blessing none the less, and I wouldn't trade him for the world. -Shannon
