OKLAHOMA!!!

Our friends, Gary & Margaret took Sam (and us) to see the outdoor performance of the musical OKLAHOMA! We had soooo much fun (thank you guys!!!). It was a very memorable experience for Sam (and us). The performance was unbelievable!! There were people from all over the country to see it, even Israel. There is nothing like seeing the musical OKLAHOMA! outdoors. Really, it was just incredible.

P.S. You will notice Sam is holding onto a half-eaten bun. We stopped at Sonic beforehand and Sam would not relinquish his bun. He must have held on to that thing for a good 45 min to an hour. He did eventually eat it. I think it was a security item for him ???

Gary took Sam to see the horses up close and personal. Sam didn't want to pet it, and seemed cautious of it. he had never seen an animal that large and up close before. p.s. the next day, on the way to church we passed a field of horses and he pointed and said "horse-wiss". (notice the bun)

we got to see this magnificent indian in his traditional dress perform an indian dance...

Sam's expression was priceless as he watched...
(notice the bun...still)

we couldn't resist...

We thought we would put sam on a statue of a horse before we tried the real thing...he did not like it one bit. (notice the bun, again)

Nonetheless, we put him on the real thing...So, Sam got to ride a pony for the very first time. He was unsure at first and just kept saying "uhhhh" and pointing at its head, but as soon as the pony started moving, Sam became really engaged, so much so that he didn't want to get off when his turn was over. (The picture is a little blury because he was in live motion at this point, and, hey...no bun...)

Sam's Newest Achievements

Sam can climb up and go down the slide all by himself; he is still working on being able to do down the steps.

Sam is learning to use a spoon to feed himself. it is quite a messy ordeal, but he has fun and gets some in his mouth, i think...

Sam can drink from a cup with help from Daddy; he loves how it gets his shirt soaking wet everytime, not to mention the floor :)

Sam decided he could get his drink all by himself...he is becoming quite autonomous.

Little Gardner

Sam loves to play outdoors!!! it has been so hot lately that we can only go out in the early morning or evening. this morning he got to play in the sprinkler as i watered my flowers. Sam really like flowers...he even sniffs them and says "mmmm..." i think he will enjoy gardening like his mama.

Sam and his Bible

Sam has this little blue Bible that he got when he was dedicated at the church, and just recently, he has really become attached to it. He hauls it around the house a lot and opens it and pretends to read it, jabbering at himself and laughing hysterically. it is the cutest thing you have ever seen.

Tantrums

Sam is very much a toddler these days, tantrums and all, so when i saw this shirt, i knew i had to get it...now, don't mistake me, we are not proud of the fact that he has his share of tantrums, we are just accepting it and knowing it is a stage of toddler-hood and that he will out grow it...in the mean time, "if the shirt fits..."

Soap & Sam

Well...Josh was bathing Sam the other night, and letting Sam hold the bar of soap. Sam was having all kinds of fun chasing it around the tub and laughing...after a few moments of silence, Josh turned around to see a small corner of the soap missing with tiny teeth marks left as the only evidence...needless to say, Sam took a bite of the soap and it is making its way through his system as we speak...Such a fun little boy!!!

Sam and Emily

This is Emily (Matt & Wendi's little girl)... isn't she just too cute!!! Josh and Sam and I visited with them last weekend, and Sam and Emily had lots of fun playing next to each other (not quite old enough to play together, yet). Sam was very concerned with her toys and making sure he had a turn

Bump the head...Sam was reaching for the toy next to Emily (once again making sure he had a turn with it).

Here is Sam looking at Emily and i think he was not quite sure what to think of her...he doesn't understand babies quite yet...i think he relates everything that is small and moves to his kitties :) so he was probably thinking "what a big kitty! Why isn't she furry?"

4th of July

I know this is a little late, but i am still catching up...So Sam is here with his Aunt Holly and cousin Alli. If it hadn't been for them, Sam would not have gotten to experience smoke bombs. they brought all different colors for Sam. He remained apprehensive throughout the whole event, but i think he liked the colors. He was really studying everthing, and trying to figure it all out.

Sam and Papa Mowin'

Sam got to ride with Papa on the lawn mower for the first time. It was really loud, and he wasn't quite sure what to think of it, he had a death grip on a pine cone the whole time.

I am not sure who is having more fun...Sam or Papa.

Sam loves his kitties!!!

We have two cats, Gracie and Hope. Sam loves them, but I am not sure how much Gracie loves him, by the look on her face. But she is very good with him and very tolerant. Hope avoids him at all costs.
Sam also loves to give Gracie lots of hugs. He is very gentle with them. We have taught him from day one to be gentle with the kitties, and he does a great job of being tender and affectionate towards them.

Sam and Daddy Swimmin'

Sam has only been swiming twice...he is not to fond of it at first, but eventually he begins to enjoy it.

Marker Experiment

Sam has colored with markers several times, but this was his first time to see what they tasted like...

This was his response to me asking, "Sam, what happened?"

Then he looked at it as if it was the marker's fault...

Then the taste finally got to him and he was not a happy camper...

Little Drummer Boy

Sam and Nana are playing with the drumsticks in the early mornings (hence the p.j.s).

Sam playing with his friend Emily

Sam was doing great sharing with Emily, but then he decided he wanted both drumsticks...

Please...

Sam chewing on his blankie. Mmmm...

Sam loves his blankie. it is a great source of comfort for him. it's amazing how quickly it pacifies him, it's almost hypnotic for him.

Mr. Bashful

Don't be decieved by the sheepish grin. there is a little fireball hiding under there :)
