Baby's First Pictures

I had my first ultrasound on Monday, and everything looks just fine. We got to see the baby wriggling around ferociously. We also got to see the heart beat and hear the blood pumping through the cord. It was such a miracle!! I thank God everyday for this little life inside me.

If you look closely (inside the black bubble) you can see the head to the left and an arm and a leg sticking up in the air and a bump in the middle that I am assuming is the umbilical cord.

Sam's First Encounter with Santa

This picture is priceless...We were at Wal-Mart the other day and heard over the intercom that Santa was in the store. I wanted to see how Sam would react, so we went by and upon seeing Santa, Sam was very uneasy. I knew Sam was not going to be happy when I placed him on Santa's lap, so... I faced Sam towards me, walked toward Santa where Sam could not see him, told the photographer to snap quickly, sat Sam on Santa's lap, took one step back and in that split second Sam looked at Santa and wailed his most pitiful cry ever, the camera man snapped, and I went in for the save. It all happened rather quickly, and was not as painful or traumatizing as it looks, but it still makes for a memorable event and a great picture...And, Yes, Santa is giving the "evil-eye."

Hello All, Things are going well for us. Sam is getting more and more vocal and more and more like a 2-year-old. I can't believe he will be 2 so soon. He is really having a lot of fun looking at all the Christmas decorations & lights. Everytime we drive by some Christmas lights he exclaims "WOW!!" It is so priceless. I get so much joy out of seeing him light up and be so excited about something as simple as lights. He often reminds me to take a closer look at the things I take for granted and the simple things in life. Samuel is such a blessing!! He is a booger at times and very strong willed, but he is a blessing none the less, and I wouldn't trade him for the world. -Shannon

Proud Daddy Twice Over

As you probably figured out from the ticker above, we are expecting another baby (July 19)!!! We are still in the very early stages of the pregnancy and are doing lots of praying for this baby to make it full-term. Most of you probably know I had a miscarage in April, so we are extreemly extatic and also scared. Please keep us in your prayers.
This is a picture of Josh just a few minutes after he found out he was going to be a daddy again...beaming to say the least :)

Papa

This is Papa loungin' around, takin' a break from chasing Sam around the house.

New Hat & Mittens

Sam hated wearing his old hat, so I got him one that velcros under his chin. I thought, no amount of pulling at this one could get it off...Well, to my surprise...He LOVES his new hat...Go figure!!

Smooches from Alli

Bailee is definately a teenager.

Two peas in a pod :) - This is Papa & Grandma (his mom).

Making noodles with Nana

Vaccuum

Sam loves to vaccuum and trys to do so every opportunity he gets.

Drumming with Maracas

Sam loves to drum, even if it is with maracas instead of his drumsticks.

Wiggle your nose

Planting Pansys

My mom bought me some pansys to plant and Sam helped. He planted, watered, and even swept. He is such a great helper. (This was before the weather turned cold, so even though he is wet and sock-footed, he is not cold)

"Big Daddy-Face"

Sam likes to make this face on a regular basis. I am not sure where he gets it, but Josh says it's his "Big Daddy Face."

P.J.s

Nana bought these PJs for Sam, and I think they are sooo cute. They have snaps around the waist to keep the shirt tucked in, so his belly stays nice and warm.

This is a typical picture of Sam just before bedtime. He has been bathed, he has his blankie in hand, and his tongue in slurp-mode, and he is very sleepy, but notice, he is still in motion.

Mr. Potato Head

Sam was playing with his Mr. Potato Head and kept motioning for me to put the glasses on him...this was the result. He also had me put them on, but thankfully, there was no one around to take my picture. :)

Salsa!!

Well, it was inevitable...Josh introduced his love for chips & salsa to Sam one day for lunch. And believe it or not, Sam LOVES it!!!
Watch me dip my chip.

This picture cracks me up. Sam is so expressive.

Mmmm...I love salsa & chips. Mama, can daddy fix lunch every day?

OSU Homecoming

During homecoming week, OSU has "walk around" where all the Greek houses make floats for the homecoming parade. We got all dressed up in our OSU gear (this was an outfit that Great-Grandma Melba & Great-Grandpa Jones gave Sam for Christmas last year, and it still fits!) and headed out. We were going to give away free hotdogs for a fundraiser with our church. (I know "free"..."fundraiser"...oxymoron). We had so much fun and Sam even tried to say "hotdog."

Isn't he handsome!!

Sleepy Boy

I thought these pictures of Sam were just too cute. He was insisting on sitting at the table even though he was really tired.

Aunt Aaro

Sam had fun playing with Aunt Aaro. Sam was showing off his drumming skills to her here, and she was letting him know how proud she was of those skills. :)

Drummin'

Sam and Big Daddy had a great time drumming together. Sam is really into drumming. He drums all the time. I just realized that I hadn't put any footage of him in action. This is a small taste of it.

Big Daddy's Arrival

As soon as Big Daddy arrived, Sam saw the luggage and had to help him take it to his room. Sam is such a big helper.

Engineers Hard at Work

Big Daddy and Sam spent some time building with the blocks.

Big Daddy Reading the Pumpkin Book

Big Daddy came to visit and Sam had a blast with him. They had so much fun playing together. This was one of their story-times.

Like my hat??

Josh decided to put Sam's blankie on his head like this. Sam thought it was so soothing. He loves his blankie.

Muffin Face

Mmmm....Sam is enjoying a blueberry muffin. He loves food!! He will sit in his high chair for a good 30 minutes to an hour eating. These are some of the only times he sits still.

Classic Tub Pic

I couldn't resist. (And, yes, it's tear-free...not to mention, allergy-free, dye-free, fragrance-free, soap-free, bubble-free - wait, scratch that; it does form bubbles, but don't ask me how, considering there is nothing in it??)

... the kid has the most sensitive skin known to man.

Harmonica Man

This has got to be possibly the funniest clip I have ever seen. Sam was really into his harmonica and just figured out how to blow into it. For the longest time he would put it in his mouth and just make the squeeky noises with his voice - That was hysterical too. Anyway, I hope you enjoy our little "harmonica man."

Are you a "Wheel Watcher"?

Sam and I watch "the wheel" almost every evening while I am fixing dinner. I don't like t.v. much and rarely watch it, but I have always been a fan of "the wheel". I guess it comes from having old parents? (ha ha). Anyway, I had it on while fixing dinner and Sam came in the kitchen to get me. He took me back into the living room and asked for his little blue chair to be moved to where it faced the t.v. I knew this was going to be great so I ran and got the camera and this is what I saw, unbeknownst to a certain little boy. :)

Play Time with Daddy

Josh and Sam have some of the most precious play time, especially in the mornings while they are still in their p.j.s. Josh is such a wonderful daddy. He never misses an opportunity to play with his little boy. I am so proud of him. Thanks for being a great daddy!

Aunt Aaro & Cousin Reagan

We had a great time visiting with Josh's sister, Aaralyn and her daughter, Reagan. Sam had so much fun playing with Reagan. Reagan lives in Altus, so they don't get to see each other very often, so this was a special day for all of us. It was also the weekend of Reagan's 11th birthday. Happy Birthday Reagan!!!

Reagan put this hat on Sam. He kept it on for a long time, surprisingly.

He played the piano for Reagan.

Then they played hide-and-seek games.

Then Reagan played "Super Sam" with him and flew him around the living room (note the blankie tucked in like a cape!). He absolutely loved this!!

Here is Josh with Aaralyn, Sam, and Reagan. We had such a wonderful visit. (My dad is majestically posed in the baground checking out his flag...)
